Have you checked out our library? It's a great example of the collaborative community spirit of our neighborhood.
It all started with an idea. Back in November one of our residents, Laurie White, posted this to the NFF Facebook group:

...and the idea took off. Another resident, Chris Bertaut volunteered his time, most of the materials, and the labor of his sons. Together, the family built it up. Still another resident, Kelly Carroll jumped in and offered to be the steward. Dozens of residents donated books and by mid-Spring, the North Fairview Farms Little Free Library was established in Millbrook Park. Check out the Little Free Library official web site for information about how it works and to get a map of all the libraries in whatever area you want to search.
It's been hugely successful and lots of fun to drop by and see what new goodies Kelly has stocked into our library. Our sincere thanks to Laurie for the idea, to the Bertaut gang for their hard work, and our steward for keeping everything running smoothly. This is just one example of how you can get involved and make North Fairview Farms, already one of the largest neighborhoods in the city, the neighborhood with the biggest heart in the city.
Got an idea? Bring it up - post it to our Facebook group, drop a note to the Board of Directors, come to a monthly meeting either in person or send a message through the neighborhood Facebook page.
